Do You Have a "Plan B?"

If the most crucial part of your business suddenly failed, would your business survive?

"B" is for Backup.

  • Do you have a backup internet service you can connect to if your primary service fails?
  • Do you keep backup copies of software, emails, and your most critical files so you don't lose your business if your hard drive crashes?
  • Do you regularly back up your subscriber lists so you can still stay in contact if you lose your list server or autoresponders?

And what about YOU? You're the most important part of all. Do YOU have a backup? Can someone run the business in your place if you can't? You're not indestructible, you know. You might even want to take a vacation someday!

There's no time like the present to prepare that "Plan B." Do it now so you'll have it ready when you need it. Trust me: you will need it - at least some of it - someday, some time, when you least expect it.

Oh yes ... one more thing ... you *did* remember to back up your website(s), didn't you?

Warmly and Positive-ly Yours

Live to Learn ... Learn to Live

Ya know what? It really DOES matter where you go to get an education.

Take the easy way out now and you'll pay for it the rest of your life.

As a junior in high school in the 1960's I had the choice of attending my local high school in suburban Detroit (the easy, obvious choice) or attending another school downtown that offered a much higher quality of education.

To get to the downtown school I would be travelling 45 minutes each way by city bus through some of the toughest neighborhoods in urban America. To make matters (seemingly) worse, this was a huge school: 8 stories high, occupying a full city block, with an enrollment of almost 5,000 students of every race, culture, religion, and ethnic group imaginable. Yikes!

If I had stayed at my neighborhood high school I would probably have graduated at or near the top of my class. But I chose the other school and graduated 68th in a class of 787.

My two years at Detroit's "Cass Tech" (as the school was affectionately called) taught me to face challenges head-on instead of running from them. I also learned that people from vastly different backgrounds and cultures really can (if they want to) find a way to get along and work together toward common goals. I may not have learned these valuable life lessons in time to do something constructive with them if I had taken the easy way out with my education.

Will you or one of your children soon be making a big decision about education? Please think about the consequences 40 years from now and choose wisely.

Live to learn ... so you can learn to live.

Warmly and Positive-ly Yours

Happiness Brings You Money, Not the Other Way Around

Don't forget you are here to live. Don't wait for money to start dictating you your happiness; rather, start enjoying yourself and living right now.

You will discover that you can do many things you enjoy without much money, or without the money you presently might not have. And this is going to turn into your fastest, most joyful and most certain path to wealth...

Because money packed with happiness can only be obtained once you are clearly certain you don't need it any more ...

This is the path to wealth that leads through the heart!

Thanks to Nikola Grubisa for this wonderful advice. Nicola is the co-author of the best-selling e-book,
"The Millionaire Mindset: How to Tap Real Wealth from Within."

November 21, 2007

On Thursday the 22nd of November (tomorrow) we here in the United States will celebrate Thanksgiving Day.

With the summer now past, the harvest gathered, and winter fast approaching, it's fitting that we take time out of our busy schedules this time of year to reflect on what we've received and accomplished and render thanks.

I'd like to share with you five things for which I am especially thankful:

  1. I'm thankful for family and the love and closeness of family relationships.
  2. I'm thankful for friends who lift my spirits, provide encouragement, and lovingly set me straight when I wander off course.
  3. I'm thankful for freedom to believe as I wish and to choose my destiny through the individual choices I make each day.
  4. I'm thankful for faith to spur me to action and show me the way.
  5. I'm thankful for favors and kindnesses shown me every day, in so many special ways.

And last but not least, I'm thankful for each and every one of you who read what I have to say here!

What are YOU thankful for? Please send me an email or post your comments below.

Warmly and Positive-ly Yours
Sharon (Fearless Reader) Iezzi

Initiative or Excuses?

Do you know what crucial quality distinguishes a go-getter with lots of initiative from a couch potato with lots of excuses?

It's a five letter word which causes:
F ~earless  A ~ction  I ~nstigated  T ~hrough  H ~ope.

That's right, folks: FAITH is where true initiative comes from. And it doesn't matter which church you go to, or whether you go to church at all. It's something anyone can develop with practice.

It (faith) works just as effectively for growing a business as it does for growing corn, growing a family, or growing closer to God.

Faith is a "working" word ... not a "sitting around" word. Something to think about...

The Humbling of a Hawk

Recently a young (apparently) inexperienced hawk got himself tangled in the branches of a rosebush right next to our house as he swooped in on what looked like an easy kill. He frantically beat his wings and bashed himself repeatedly against our sunroom window in his desperate attempts to escape.

My husband and I rushed outside to do what we could to help. By the time we got to him he had finally managed to break free and had fallen to the ground in an exhausted heap. Concerned that he might be seriously hurt, my husband put on heavy leather gloves and gently moved towards him, intending to catch him if he was too hurt to move. The hawk quickly got up and half ran-half flew a short distance from us, winding up in a sitting position on our front lawn.

Grateful that he was OK, we watched him for a while and he watched us. What a beautiful, awesome creature! Bruised and badly shaken, he seemed to realize that we had no desire to hurt him. He stayed on the ground for about half an hour, then recovered enough to fly to a low overhanging roof. From there after another rest he finally flew away.

The young hawk was so focused on accomplishing his immediate objective that he failed to look at the bigger picture - and wound up getting himself into a thorny mess. He's lucky the experience didn't cost him his life.

It's important to focus on what we want, but we must be careful not to narrow our vision too much ... or we may wind up like that hawk. Those thorns hurt!

Like Attracts Like

Do you use the word "cheap" in ads or sales letters for your business? Maybe you'd like to reconsider...

When I see the word "cheap" on a web page I click away from there at warp speed. Why?

Consider the meaning in the spelling:

C=Conceited
H=Hateful
E=Envious
A=Alone
P=Poor

As Robert Kiyosaki once said, "the only problem with getting rich by being cheap is that when you're rich you're still cheap."

Did you know that "like attracts like" when you're doing business? If you think cheap, talk cheap, and act cheap then that's exactly the kind of customer you'll attract. Is that what you want? Or would you rather do business with generous, caring people who are pleasant to be around and happily show their appreciation for your outstanding product or service by paying you a fair price for your time and effort?

Please don't be "cheap." Be fearless and frugal instead! Words have great power to influence people. Let's choose them wisely.

Warmly and Positive-ly Yours

Seeds of Dreams

Do you know what the single greatest source of light and energy for growing things planted on earth (the sun) has in common with the single greatest source of light and energy for growing things planted in your mind?

The answer is simple. Both operate by faith.

Would a farmer bother planting seeds in the ground if he didn't believe they would grow and produce something he wanted? Of course not. Would all the sunshine in the world grow a seed that wasn't planted? Of course not.

A farmer must have faith that his work of plowing, planting, nourishing and cultivating will, when combined in proper balance with the light and energy of the sun, produce the desired result (a good crop). It is that faith which keeps him working day by day, month by month, until the crop is harvested and sold.

So it is with our dreams of success in whatever form they may take. We must first believe that the seeds we are planting in our minds (our ideas) will grow and produce something we want. Then we must have faith to keep doing the work necessary to ensure that our efforts will, when combined in proper balance with the light and energy of divine providence, produce the desired results (the realization of our dreams) in their proper time and season.

5 Things Anyone Can Do to Become Extraordinarily Successful (and Wealthy)

  1. Make an extraordinarily good first impression so that people remember you in a positive way.
  2. Render extraordinary service. Go the extra mile. Do more than is asked. That alone will set you apart from the rest of the crowd.
  3. Be extraordinarily prompt. Arrive 15-20 minutes early for appointments and meetings. Answer your email and voicemail with extraordinary speed. Watch your prospects turn into extraordinarily loyal customers as a result.
  4. Show extraordinary courtesy. Good manners, soft speech and kind words are in all too short supply nowadays. Let everyone know you have more than enough to go around for all.
  5. Give extraordinary praise and thanks for all you receive. Be extraordinarily diligent in sending a personal "thank you" to each and every person who does you a good turn, no matter how small. Make an extraordinary donation to your church or favorite charity. Keep an attitude of gratitude about you and you'll find yourself working more "in the zone" where you function at extraordinary levels of energy to produce extraordinary results in extraordinarily short periods of time.

Do these 5 things every day, every hour, every minute until they become a habit, and you'll be unstoppable!

Warmly and Positive-ly Yours

Let's Stand Together

Today I'm going to discuss two ideas very close to my heart: family and friendship.

Strong families united together in friendship build strong communities and nations. They stand together when danger threatens and settle their differences peaceably because they share common values and a common sense of right and wrong.

We all know that the family is coming under severe attack. The peddlers of perverted lifesyles and filth are gaining ground, and our respective communities and nations are weakening as a result. It's downright scary to think about what might happen if the trend continues...

So what can you or I do that will make a difference? Very simply, we can be friends! We can choose to stand together as friends even though we may differ in age, culture, race, education or religious beliefs. I know we can be friends because deep down inside you and I must share common family values and a common sense of right and wrong or you wouldn't have read this far. As friends we can accomplish far more by working together than we will ever be able to accomplish on our own.

I would like to be your friend. Would you like to be my friend? What are your thoughts? I'd love to get your feedback.

Warmly and Positive-ly Yours
Sharon (Fearless Reader) Iezzi
